Liniments are medicated topical preparations that are for external application. Typically, liniments are used by applying the liquid to a swab and rubbing the swab over an area until most of the liquid has dissipated, or massaged into the skin. These herbal combinations have been used for centuries. They have survived the test of time because of their effectiveness. My liniments are made by combining herbs, liquor and water. They are then sealed and fermented for a period of time. These were handmade by me to insure that the finished product is of the most superior standard. I have harvested 3 formulas that can be used for different issues.
Iron Fist (Big Hand Little Hand)
It toughens the skin, strengthens tendons and prevents blood stagnation (bruises and pain). This is a hand toughening formula for iron palm or iron fist training. This formula will prevent infection and help the skin become strong, but not callused. This formula originated for the use of combat practices, but because it strengthens the bones, quells pain and inflammation it is also perfect for combating arthritis.
New Injury
As the name states, this liniment is for new injuries. In Oriental Medicine philosophy, new injuries create extra heat, as can be seen from the cardinal signs of inflammation; heat, redness, swelling, loss of function. New Injury cools the surface to relive redness and swelling. Then it penetrates deep inside to break up congested energy. This liniment is perfect for clearing up bruises and easing pain associated with newer injuries.
Old Injury
When a new injury does not heal properly, one may notice residual symptoms. This liniment will also help with pain that is associated with the aged. It promotes blood circulation so that it enhances the metabolic rate of the body, and strengthens the skeletal muscular system. It is used for all types of old injuries, sprains, tendon strains, fractures, and certain types of arthritis. The adage of Oriental Medicine states “if it’s old, it’s cold”. This means that old injuries respond well to heat therapy. If you get pain relief from a warm bath or shower, this would be a good liniment for your aches and pains. This is also a good liniment to use for those aches and pains that come and go with the changes in weather.
